I've just upgraded last month in store for another 12 months and had to pay £50 for my k750i, I've been with 02 for 8 years and with what deals i have saw peeps gettin here i will be lookin for a better deal next year from 02. The only thing they told me was i would get double minutes and txts for 6 months as they were giving existing customers the same deal as new customers. My current tariff is 02 leisure time plus.

You will always get a better deal by phoning O2 direct and asking for a PAC code to leave them than you will if you go into an O2 shop.

I will fone them next year when my contract is up for renewal and see what deal i can get, Incidentally i foned them 2 years ago, never asked for PAC code right enough, but i got a Nokia 8310 free and 6 months half price line rental, since i told them i was going to cancel and go to another network. lessons have been learnt.

JEM16 - You can upgrade exactly 11 months so get your son to call up then and ask for his PAC code. By doing this he will be passed through to the retension team and they will try to do him a deal to keep him with O2. IMPORTANT - He must keep up the pretense that he is leaving, only then will he get the best deal possible.

Thanks for this. O2 called him on Friday offering him a free upgrade - he said he'd think about it. He called the Retentions dept later and mentioned the 3 deal. He was told that they were doing a similar deal but to phone on the 28th as they couldn't offer it before this. So we'll see.
