Yes. To activate, place a Power Control widget on your home screen and you should see a sunlight button on the right. Press that to toggle between the backlight mode. The order of the mode is as follows: Minimum -> Auto -> Maximum. If you try to manually adjust the backlight brightness after setting it to 'Auto', 'Auto brightness" will be disabled.

The Arc has an ambient light Sensor. The only issue is that its too slow in adjusting the brightness.

Great phone. I will stay with it for the long time probably yeah.
More tomorrow because I want to play with it and I lost my PC powercord. But night shots are very very good, never seen that on good on phone.

welcome back to SE! (All the wp6 guys at xda seems to have switched to android also. Imo android is more like wp6 than wp7 anyway, customize ftw! )

Got my arc today... Brilliant phone...however cant help but think the keyboard on my hd7 is much better than the keyboard on the arc

I decided install the screen protector that came in the box on top of the one already applied.
It turns out the one in the box in smaller than the installed one.
I can't see any differences on the display after applying it, and the sensitivity seems fine.
