Just read s10+ review. GSMA is not impressed.
Battery test scored just 91h with 4100mAh.
Night photos are awful, way worse than previous generations.
Night shots and selfie of XZ2P are much better.
Did not pay much attemption to daylight photos ....
Nothing wow ...

s10+'s camera isnt lookin good and 4100 mah battery doesnt live up to hype maybe exynos cpu eats too much power.
now i wonder if xperia 1 would exceed s10+'s endurance rating with something like 3580 mah battery.
and about cam sensors imx 586(honor view20)'s 12 mpx samples have best detail with xz2 series(maybe a little sharp even) in gsmarena's
tool.@video side xz2 series still unbeatable though.

Did u guys watch the many hands-on vids of 1?
The phones looks much better compared to the photos.
Curious to know if Japan again will get an exclusive colour again.

But now all of a sudden they ditched the larger sensor for a smaller sensor and put ois
This is what i dont understand
It seems that they are crippling themselves

1 is the most generic Xperia they ever put out imo.
There's nothing special made exclusively for it except the screen.
No mirror finish or color changing in different light, no special sensor, generic design. The front cam is shared with the lowest end. UI comes straight from vanilla Android. Oled is supposed to be thin, 8.2mm with small battery. Where does all the space go?
I still like it but is this really the premium replacement? I doubt it.
This feels like a placeholder for what's to come.

something i dont get it why sony choose to have a 4k model for mwc if they wont release another 4k model with 5g modem this year.
especially camera setup doesnt look like special even though 3 cameras, maybe they have better performance then last year phones but it's strange while there will be even midrange chinese phones with imx586.
i wonder about something, are there anyone knows if (26mm) 48 mp camera with (52mm) 12 mp camera can zoom optical 8x?

Imx586 is a generic sensor available to any brand interested.
Just like imx258 (1/3" 13MP) was widely used by tons of devices.
The 586 is not 3 layer stacked cmos like imx400 and this new used inside X1.
Without the DRAM, there is no 960fps, no 4K HDR HLG , no Predective Capture , no burst with AF, no anti distortion shutter , more rolling shutter.
No current phone has true optical zoom. Just 2x or 3x digital for longer focal length.
2x digital zoom of 52mm will look better than 4x digital zoom of 26mm.
The "Hybrid Zoom" is a mix of images from both.
Huawei uses 80mm but had 5x hybrid ..
P30 Pro seems to have 10x hybrid.
Xperia 1 has just 5x digital for main cam, no more 8 x like previous devices.
And of course it cant do iso12800 video, nor iso51200 photos..
If they give the Bionz X and Raw NR to XZ2P, I bet it can easily beat 1 ....

@hawk52: the total zooming capability for xperia 1 would be 10x, 2x with optical zoom + 5x further with digital zoom on the telephoto camera.
