I think it is easy to use although I do keep hitting the full stop key at the wrong time too often. I keep ending up with full stops in messages at the wrong part

Its nowhere near as good as my hd7. Not accurate. However when I had my x10 I couldnt use the sony ericsson keyboard so I used the original keyboard...however the arc doesnt have the option

Install an alternative keyboard of your choice... and use it...
I'm finding it fine... May give the gingerbread keyboard a chance too...

I know it's not free, but I've been using the Flext9 keyboard for the last couple of weeks on the X10 and now Arc and I would hate to go back to a normal keyboard now. Four different input methods - dictation, swiping and handwriting recognition as well as a "normal" keyboard. The dictation is very accurate in a quiet environment but I generally use the swipe method. It's as good as it sounds in this review:

It's especially smooth on Arc.
