Do you remember what Sony did to the wonderful Minolta?
I love Nikon and would love them to be on their own for as long as they can.
Minolta merged with Konica before and named ( Minolta Konica, and later Konica Minolta ), but they were not success, their latest move was an agreement with Sony to co-develop CCD and CMOS sensors... but just one year later, they announce they will quit the whole Camera market ( Film and Digital ), and because of that they decided to sell their camera business, and coz of earlier corporation with Sony, the later was the buyer of choice and this is what happend, it might be Sony offered them to buy the camera business or they told Sony that they want to do so... but Konica Minolta is still exist today but they don't offer any cameras, they have products like printers, optics, OLED lighting and others ( visit

I don't think the idea of Sony buying Kodak is a bad idea looking that Kodak has filed for bankruptcy early this year, and they have a huge portfolio of patents that will be very useful in Sony Products or to strength Sony's IP portfolio...
But, I prefer Sony uses their current success in SLR and mirror less SLR and even simple point of shoot cameras and put more R&D in that areas and they can do it... Kodak way will be faster, but they can do it without them...
but for me, Sony buying Kodak will be better than Apple or Samsung do

Depending on situations, HTC smartphones might become superior gaming device(both graphics and experience) than Sony if PSMobile will not have FPS capping. HTC has a reputaton for giant displays which will be perfect for onscreen controls and putting the best SoC/RAM combo they can find. though I wouldn't underestimate Sony once their true smartphones started showing up.
so more or less two weeks from now, and LT29i will show up, still wondering about its final name, back in the days of pre-X10, we can easily guess smartphone names, now it's different. honestly speaking I preferred their letter+3digit naming system before. much more uniform and easy to understand which one's gonna be the top.

SLR means Single Lens Reflex camera. Sony haven't made any new ones for a few years now. They've moved to SLT (Single Lens Translucent mirror camera) and MILCs (Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera). The last means you simply can't have a single lens reflex mirrorless camera
