Earlier my Z would show standby time of 14-15 hours and more than one day if I activated stamina mode. Nowadays it's showing standby time of just 7 hours and 13 hours if I activate stamina mode. What went wrong? Is it some app I must have installed? or is this the normal standby time?

My brightness is set to minimum and autobrightness is off.

Anybody has something to say about this?

@pbhat

When is the new headset slated to launch here? I love the MW600. When it works, why bother

I think RamU would be in a better position to answer this. The Sony (India) site shows SBH20 as comming soon and DR-BTN200M as Available, but it is still not available in stores. Even the Dock has not come yet...

The only thing extra SnapDeal is giving is the SD card. but to be frank I would rather get a better SDXC card. Ya it is a definitely a better deal than Flipkart. Anyways, the Headphones they are giving are worth Rs.790. The same would be true for the pouch.

I am more interested in getting the Bluetooth headset! That is more useful.

Yeah but snapdeal mentions that the headset worth Rs 1490/-(MDR-ZX300/N) whereas flpkart says its ( MDR-ZX100A) which is only 790/-??????

Tapas

If you check the Sony's site they are listing the price of Headphone as Rs.790. The price Snapdeal is quoting is the initial launch price of the product.

I should get my new SIM by tomorrow. The problem with my currently used SIM is that it is a very old one, abt 6+ yrs old. I showed it to a dealer and he said it is difficult to cut the SIM as the exposed contact area of SIM is quite big. Cutting will damaged the SIM card. So wait for just 1 more day!!!

That's odd thought we had passed the days when Sonys cant play mkv via the built in player, that's an issue I had long ago in my Xperia X10.

Is it a high quality mkv e.g. HD1080P@30fps? Maybe the Z has a problem with those.

mkv's can have different types of video and audio format, mkv is just a container, also depending on the profile level of an h264 video inside the mkv, it can have anywhere from low 480p to high resolution 4k, different framerates (although usually 24 fps) and could either be 8 bit or 10 bit.

so far 10 bit always has issues with phones, haven't seen a tablet or phone yet that can play a hi10p mkv video properly even if you use a dedicated video player app, hardware does not support it, and if done through software decoding, there's not enough processing power yet on a mobile phone that can handle hi10p software decoding.
