I got a better question .... why was the only touchscreen BlackBerry have only 1 3G band, not Triband 3G like the 2 Bolds to be sold on many more carriers as a great alternative to the iPhone?!

Sorry don't have an answer for you - I have no real world use for Skype (??) and really don't see its usefulness on a 3G network really, I prefer UMA but I have to wait for my carrier here to support this Bold 9700 (they do sell it, just no support for UMA yet; cod file modification doesn't work
).
