Any words on what the screen resolution is and what band it would support? I'm hoping this thing would support penta band like some of Nokia's phones.

And as for what band it would support, most likely the same as X10
And also keep in mind that ALTEK announced a 14 mp Android already. So maybe
want to counter that and any future 14+ mp droids
by adding 16.4 mp into X12
Oh and only few weeks for the official announcement
P.S. The "BIG" suprise is the X12 that bert was talking about
. I guess there was an interview somewhere where he mentioned that they will soon launch a phone that will be cutting edge and be ahead of the competition in terms of specs.

as we all know xperia x10 has had a huge success in Japan....and that makes SONY happy....that means that NOW SONY is even more intrested into making the best x10 successor since the handset is going to be sold in JAPAN TOO....and we all know japanese are tech-savvy....so the x10 successor has to be an overkill....so i too believe that 16.4mp is highly likely...!!!

Different carriers anyway, the X10 is on NTT DoCoMo, the S006 is on AU KDDI
I think in the vast majority of cases, phone development is very strictly controled by the carriers anyway, if AU KDDI don't like the power of this X12 device, then it's probably their own fault

I can fully imagine the new 16MP sensor being featured on phones appearing early 2011. The camera on SE phones is one of the features that they expect to excel in. The S006 and SO-01C have probably been in development for a similar length of time.
It would be amazing if they managed to squeeze Xenon in to the Cliaro package too - it's probably the biggest thing I miss on my X10 right now and with the human-curvature theme they have going on right now, they could probably do it without making the phone look overly bulky.

Some more things
a) Remember how the X10 was supposed to be "X3"? So expect last moment name changes of Cliaro from X12 to I dont know what
X16???
b) As mentioned by some of the other members here, since the X12 is also going to be sold in Japan, the specs clearly indicate that SONY has played a major role in the development of the X12. If you look at all the
Japan models, they all hav more SONY characteristics than
. CMOS sensors, OLED screens and the works. I am starting to believe that the X12 is not just a
smartphone. Its more of a SONY,
, and GOOGLE smartphone. Anyone agree with me?

Well in less than 3 weeks. I do not have exact dates but expect an announcement or an "official" leak by second week of November. In any case should not be more than 20 days from now.
