Am I just not seeing what you mean? It looks like every panel but one is listed as using LTPS...
Now, maybe Sony won't use all JDI panels, I don't know, but I think it's a good sign, at least.

That one also happens to be the only 10.1" one.
At least we seem to have figured out the display the z2 uses (5" with pixeleyes)

@away
WRONG! It doesn't use 5'' pixel eyes because it has 5.2'' screen. Perhaps it uses LTPS without pixel eyes or perhaps they will use it because it's sony tech anyway

The positioning of the NFC is better on the new tablet, but I'd like to have seen a double sided NFC like the Nexus 10.

Other Tablet Z owners, may I know what you consider a not so good battery life (that you appear to have, since everyone is complaining), and what you consider a better battery life (that would make Tablet Z2 better)?
I never owned or extensively used another tablet befoe Tablet Z so I have basis for comparison on battery life.
BUT, I have had no troubles with the life of my Tab Z, I can play games or watch a few movies for an entire afternoon before needing to charge it and I usually have the screen of full brightness simply because it looks awesome.
From what I understand battery life on watching movies is very dependant on how much hardware decoding is done over software decoding, which depends on the compression format. Hardware decoding is less heavy processing dependant, software decoding makes the cpu work very hard and burn through the remaining % battery quickly. A more advanced chip will support hardware decoding of more codecs and battery will be massively improved. Bear this in mind when you're watching something in an awkward codec and the battery lasts for seemingly less than it should be. Or I may be completely wrong in this paragraph, in which case ignore me

Do you realize that tablet Z2 is thinner then Z Ultra? it's crazy, hehe. tablet Z4 will be paper thin?

how thin can they go from here? t Z2 should definitely be the coolest looking tablet of 2014.

Without the bazel there is no place to put your fingers/hands when you are holding it.. you don't want them on the screen, so.. this is the only way thus far.
Intel have a very interesting solution but they haven't shipped a product with it yet. Just bing/google for Intel NorthCape, the tech is called "smart frame"

I don't want to be impolite, but I don't speak sarcasm as secondary.
Be reasonable, then I'm (try to be) reasonable.
...............
I'm not defending Sony on poor supply chain, it not my business just to point out that the better chain could give better/initiative tech. Tablet Z, is failure because Sony didn't committed enough on them several months (three months in Japan and half year for the rest market) after announcement before hit the shelves (that's could have something wrong in the chain) and what to expect from Android tablet experience that have barely support from Google itself. (less than ten-thousand native tablet apps!) Even last year Nexus 7 was also failure.
Amazon is differently business model, how can compare to other manufacturers that get profit from each hardware sold.
2K Display yield-rate still low, that's why world first 2K phone from Vivo (that was official before last year end) still did not make it way to shelves, just yet. Why Samsung and Oppo phones rumour to have both QuadHD and FullHD screens version? Do your homework a bit!
---------
Anyway, I guess later this year, Apple could fall behind (a bit) in 300Mbps LTE speed race (iPhone 5s is still 100Mbps) but they will counter with the very first initiative of 20 nanometers chipset by TSMC with new iPhone 6 in Q4. Double punches from Cupertino as it last year hit with 64bit chipset. (The guess based on Qualcomm's 64bit roadmap that likely out for sample around the year end)
