besides (think kaprun) tunnels only have 2 ways out (especially this one, i doubt there are any 'emergency exits' halfway
), and as per murphy's law disasters happen in the middle.
there will never be an atlantic tunnel is it would have to go through a gap in the earth somewhere in the middle of the atlantic ocean
you'd be fried if if you were to arrive at the other side.
