No im not 11 years old. What has age got to do with anything. I wouldn't say any of them were strong or durable. They were all really fragile. Its like Apple invented the broken LCD screen. I know people who have had their iPhones screen replaced about 3 times (or more!) in the 24 months of their contract.

I know people who have broken their iPhone screens so many times they don't bother having them repaired, because its such a regular occurrence they get accustomed to looking through a broken glass screen.

All im saying is, I disagree with you about your comment. I would never class any of the previous iPhones as strong because in my experience they were not. Maybe not the worst made out there, but not in the same league as what Nokia phones were !

Iphone screen does not break on its own and I know this from actually owning one. If you are going to drop it of course the screen will break - drop tests have proven that samsung phones are just as susceptible of having the screen cracked

Anyway glad to say ios 8.1 runs well on mine. Apple has been quick to fix the glitches I encountered on ios 8.0

Nobody disputes otherwise. But Apple were one of the first that actually used glass.

I can remember when they started using glass in phone screens to think, wtf ! glass !? up until that point id be happy with my Nokia and SE phones using plastic over their screens / touchscreens.

It's a choice: plastic screen which is more prone to be scratched but less to crack, or glass which doesn't scratch easily but will crack when dropped.

Speaking of which - and sorry for wandering off the topic - these thin screen protectors people put on their phones with gorilla glass screens: what's the point? The force needed to scratch gorilla glass will not be deflected by that thin soft plastic.

iOS 8.1.1 is out and live

Seems like its only bug fixes for iPad2 & iPhone 4s devices though.

Correction,Nokia sets the standard for build quailty.

They haven't been since the N95 days ... drop test comparison any last Windows Phone Nokia vs Passport. then see whats up.

Don't worry Nokia still makes networking equipment for telcos and software solutions for them.

Nokia survived 4 generations of a make-over in 120yrs .. I'd say they lived a lifetime twice over ... I'm completely fine with them bowing out the smartphone evolution just before its a global commodity and prices drop on average $0US-$150 for High-End devices!

BlackBerry is smart enough to dig into a LOT of other revenue streams and now strengthening those portfolio of assets, Apple soon will be in trouble: they make software and services ONLY for their own hardware, when that is no longer relavant nor artistic ... you'll see no lights on in that HUGE new saucer campus 2. Then their so called eco system will falter just like Sega's hardware revenue stream did ... Sega too evolved quickly, I think Apple's pride will for it to adapt. Not now ... not in 5yrs ... soon after.
