A quick search on Twitter for #SonyCES shows "We've got lots of detail to share at #SonyCES. Stay tuned… "
Detail? Tuned? It sounds to me like a tv screen of some sort. You 'tune' into a tv station? Am I reading too much into this?

I've read on tech sites that LG along with Sony will announce some TVs at CES. The "Star" will be an 8K TV. So maybe we'll see a new walkman, ultra thin 4K tablet and a 8K TV.

I think there will be announcements regarding, PS Vita and Android too.
BTW, does Sony still use codenames for its Xperia phones?

Sony have just tweeted this image of a very thin object through some curtains using the #SonyCES
Now I don't want to jump to conclusions but surely that image is reference to this still taken from the teaser trailer from Sony's New World Promo.
In that video the said item is picked up by just a few fingers, again I don't want to jump to conclusions but that must be a new tablet right ? If not what else could it be.
Here is the video again in full.
Welcome to the New World

Nvidia is continue their excellent by announces the newest chipset TEGRA X1.
TX1 will be the first mobile chip that able to deliver a teraflop computing power and consume just only 10w.
Made from TSMC 20 nanometer fab (same as Apple A8), total 256 cuda core instead of previous gen 192.
Yet again no Modem baseband on die chip, which needed for mobile device and end up as two-chip solution.

Makes sense for it to be a tv, a tablet would be more at place at MWC.
Isn't the X1 supposed to hit mobile devices in the 1st half of this year and automotive applications in 2nd half?

Tegra processors are built for embedded products, mobile devices, autonomous machines and automotive applications. Tegra X1 will begin appearing in the first half of the year.

Slightly OT :
I heard that the next step of Android Auto is to have an OS specially designed for cars, not like now just integration between the phone and the car infotainment system...
By that time these SoC will play a major role, the current infotainment systems are just pathetic... Ford just switched from Microsoft to Blackberry for their systems as the latter is very fluid and speedy compared to the lagy Microsoft solution.. they said it's closer to the experience we currently have in smartphones and tablets...
Back in Topic :
Any news about the new UI ? I guess it's now 95% confirmed that smartphones and related stuff will be shown in MWC.. but I feel that CES will still be interested...
+ I want Sony VAIO to come back
