My first ever phone was a Nokia Ringo and i got it on Vodafone Pay as you Talk analogue service. If i moved ever so slightly the call would cut off and i forever got crackling. It only worked well in city centre of Birmingham elsewhere in city it was poor. Ah memories.

my first was the samsung d500, but a pal of mine, had a mobile phone from when they were first introduced. It was a motorola, with a big aerial. 50 per min it cost me to borrow it from london to manchester.

That's strange, I don't recall the T39 ever being originally released in colours other than: a soft blue, a very deep/dark navy blue, and a soft white.

My very first phone was a Sony ... cannot recall the model but it was a CDMA model for ClearNet in Canada (ClearNet was bought and became Telus Mobility). That lasted 3mths in my hands and I sold it to a friend. Then I got smart and bought the Ericsson T18z on Fido - a pure GSM carrier with amazing rates which killed its profits and eventually got bankrupt and allowed by CRTC to be bought by Rogers Wireless.

So yeah for a very long long time I was already in the frame of mind of using a Sony ... Ericsson .
But I evolved, hadn't in the ways I required.
