@monkeypantz - give it some time. as someone who has had many sony phones, and have followed them throughout the years, they tend to improve the camera a lot through updates. it will get better and better. you'll see

i think audio recording in video mode sounds excellent. even the music in the background. engadget said this sample (from their review) wasn't good. strange. i think it's pretty solid.

It's not very good, Engadget are right, it sound good but the quality of the video is average to be honest, even the comments under the video say the same.

EDIT
NM, mis-read, I guess

Anyways, for comparison here is the Lumia 1020:

The Z1 definately destroys it for audio quality. Video quality is acceptable, but kinda "meh". Will see how things might improve there once the proper camera firmware is released.

What's also disappointing is the fact that even though you can zoom in 3x when taking pictures, you can't do this when video recording, the 1020 offers 4x lossless zoom at 1080p and 6x at 720p, the Z1 should at least be capable of clear zoom of 3x on video but it's not which doesn't make sense.

^it could be coming in a future update. ya never know. might be something they are working on in addition to improving the still photography.

@monkeypantz - did you ever answer me about how FEDEX notified you of the FCC issue?

I was out tonight at a football match and two friends of mine (One had an S4 and the other had a Z1) they both took pictures and the z1 took the better pictures even though it was in low light.

you never give up do you - you're like a broken record, thought you bought a secondhand Z - why didn't you buy an S4 since you love it so much and give us all here a rest from you're never ending bull
