I agree with @Away & @>500
The point is from my side is Smartphones doesn't need more than 1080p, the pixels are small enough to be nearly impossible to see in a 5" device with that resolution...
but in tablets, resolution like 2K is possible duo to large screen... but only for high-end side... tablets rest closer to the eyes than a TV or computer screen so 2K or 4K will benefit here but smartphones no way.. waste of money, processing power and battery life !!

Could this be the rumored canopus with 5" display high-end sidekick? no dual speakers grills - this is not the Z2 (or however the flagship will be called) IMO. also, it doesn't seem waterproof by looking at the design. sony likes to design thine profile for the flagships.

Not sure how anyone can tell if it's waterproof or not just by looking at the screen unit above but waterproofing is not something Sony wants to drop on it's high-end Xperias right now. It's a big differentiator from other brands.

All waterproof phones don't have small bezels so i assume there is a reason for that + sony likes to design thine profile for flagships + the rumored Z2 by irimas from XDA and the leaked pics from digi-wo... it has dual speakers + the previous leaked pics before announcement had a final design. take z1 leaked pics for example...

Maybe Sony will return the ZL with every even number Z iteration, and then we are now watching the ZL2
