T68i users: Just called up semicon powerplant and their technical people said available na rin daw yung firmware upgrade sa kanila

Q: what does the firmware upgrade do though? can it correct 'bugs' ba or not since that is a software problem?

@* there is one diffence of the real i to t68. on production side, the flash rom that they use is different. flash roms have ids depending on the manufacturer. the upgrade firmware does not know this but the flashing software does. it reads the id of the rom. that is how they distinguish t68mc from t68m to t68i

the good news is ericsson (am speaking of ) has another version of the flashing software that does not read the id.

to learn more about this, read IEEE 1284, bi-directional communication.

however, this is a big however, i dunno if will release that software to their service points. it is used mainly for development purposes.

pag naging available na sa singapore yung upgrade (dba d pa rin available sa sing?) i see no reason why smartnet cant do the upgrade since isang location lang naman pinagkukunan nila ng mga firmware upgrades so now i'm waiting for singapore to have their upgrade then i'll ask smartnet again about my problem..
