God damn, I dont think SE will show anything in November. Shouldnt we have heard anything about a coming announcement/press-conference/whatever by now?

DoCoMo announces new phones in November - that's the biggest clue we have that something will appear in the form of the SO-01C / X10 successor.

Anyone here that has for even a moment considered that a next gen SE phone will have 512Mb of ram DEDICIATED to the GPU needs their head examined.
1) You do not commit half the total available ram in a system to a GPU that will not need it 95% of the time.
2) Previous spec "leaks" have indicated that the applications processor will be Omap4. This uses the powerVr SGX530, which employs tile based rendering to reduced memory & bandwidth requirements. It would never in a million years know what to do with 512M of ram !
3) The GMA600 used in the upcoming Intel Moorestown, OakTrail etc Socs use a higher performance variant of the same graphics core, namely the SGX535. The graphics core is capable of addressing MAXIMUM 128MBs of memory, and this is in a chip that is destined to be used for tablets under full windows 7 !
http://www.notebookcheck.net/[....]celerator-GMA-600.31181.0.html
3) PS2 had 4MB of dedicated graphics memory, plus could use some of the 32MB of main memory, which also had to contain the game !
If the rest of the "spec" is based in the same alternative reality as the graphics ram, one must have serious doubt about it.
You definitely have valid points but you have to get some of your facts straight. Omap 4 will not use or has never ever been rumoured to use PowerVR SGX 530. It will use PowerVR SGX 540 which what Samsung Galaxy S I9000 and family have and is better than PowerVR SGX 535. You can double check that on TI OMAP 4 webpage.
About the dedicated 512 RAM, SE sure have a reason why they need it. That we will find out in the next couple of weeks.
But here is my insight about the matter which are based from several articles in the internet. I think X12 will use PowerVR SGX543MP8 (eight cores) capable of 532 million poly/s, fill rates excess in excess of 16Gpixels/sec at 400MHz. The same as the rumoured GPU for PSP2. Plus, PSP2 is also rumoured to have dual-core processor so I do not think it is just a mere coincidence. Since according to avmaxfan X12 will be the first phone to take the Android gaming experience to the next level, it would be just about right. So CPU and GPU specifications are OMAP 4440 1.5GHz dual-core plus PowerVR SGX543MP8 with dedicated 512mb RAM.
Next year will be the battle of CPU and GPU with the top-end electronic handheld devices are expected to sport Samsung Orion, ARM Cortex + GEForce 9 (Nintendo DS2), ARM Cortex + PowerVR (HTC), etc. Let's us see who will be the fastest of them all.

my bad regarding the omap4, I *know* its 540, why i decided for that paragraph its 530 is beyond me, musta been thinking about omap3.
Ti Omap4400 contains SGX540, that's a fact, if its Omap4400 then its SGX540, not a multi-core anything.
TI only licenced multi-core graphics technology from IMG 5 months ago, to think its gonna pop up in a device in the next 6 months is absurd. They havn't even got a single Omap44xx with sgx540 in a user product yet. multi-core via TI will not occur until next get Omap5. I expect Omap5 to be announced at WMC in Feb, and been seen in devices 2012. BTW OMAp4 was originally announced at WMC2009.
Regard the sony PSP2, its been rumoured to be SGX543x4, SGX543x8. There have been no useful articles on the net regarding it, some wild fanciful stuff over on semi-accurate, and a few other places, but nothing from a notable source. BTW its is widely assumed that Sony are the unnamed "Major International Consumer Electronics Company" that licenced a high end graphics core from IMG in Nov 2008, a much more reasonable time-frame. Clearly if Sony was using a part from TI, who also have a multi-core licence, Sony would not need to licence the graphics IP themselves. Whatever Sony is doing with the PSP2, if its IMG, its not a TI application processor, its something they are designing themselves, possibly using MIPS ( an IMG technology partner), and given that a gaming consoles expected battery life is TOTALLY different from a mobile phones, the platform will not be cross used in that way.
512MB DEDICATED to graphics in a mobile...absurd, the PS3 only has 256M !!

Finally but too bad.... I don't really like the industrial design.
Maybe it just look too much like PSP Go or maybe its the color on this sample...hopefully the official announcement can show the true beauty of it.
and hope SE learn their lesson not to be slow in following Google's Android update

this will probably look heaps better in press pics. first impressions? it's okay. the shape is like that of vivaz, so nothing new. what i don't like though is the fact that when on landscape, the screen is not centered. I also don't dig the 4 buttons - they look too crowded. i think we can live without the dedicated search button. and the button labels - they should stick with the SE ones, as now they look like Samsung's.
