The last time Feb 1st was a Friday it was 2008. However, that looks like a recent version of android and engadget seem to think it's genuine even if it's only an early proto.
I don't like it to be honest, but then I said the same about the X10 at announcement and didn't really like it till a month or so before release.
I think this handset would only have a limited market as not everyone wants a gaming phone. X12 will be the hero handset for SE in 2011.

Firstly, the design is not
at all. To some extent its quite unimpressive
Secondly, no groundbreaking hardware. Unlike what we would have expected.
Thirdly, I too don't see this phone as having a huge potential. Not everyone would want a "gaming" phone.
Still waiting for the X12/X16 leak.
Hardly two weeks to go

Browsing through the gallery you'll notice the phone is set to Feb 1st, 1980.

Donīt remember that itīs an early prototype the real phone might and probably is much cooler and maybe has more impressive hardware. I think SE have been very good in hidding products recently and its quite nice too see. Because now we only dream on phone and hopefully is beeing blown of when they launch the real one:)

First: Design wise wait... these are totally awful shots, cut from there surroundings by some amateur. Unimpressive? its the first phone with real gaming controls!
Second: Unlike what YOU suspect. If this phone is released the first quarter of 2011 the hardware will be great! Maybe not your supposed 512mb of dedicated graphics memory but still
Third: Check the comments section on Endgadget, its huge within hours of the leak. This phone has been waited for by freaks since day 1. If it comes with strong support from android, software wise I think it will be very successfull!
