Hi, can someone please help me setup my motorola v360 to browse the internet for free. Im from south africa using mtn and already downloaded opera mini 4.2 and opera mini mod 206 on different memory cards. Opera mini mod wont even open webpages or google anymore it just says processing and stops then deducts a couple of cents airtime. The opera mini 4.2 works brilliant as usual but takes away airtime also.Ive written down alot of proxies but am not sure if all the settings are correct on my gprs and opera mini network settings. And do you have to change the homepage for gprs also.

I don't think that's possible. Your carrier will charge you for the amount of data transfered as all data being up/downloaded is going in/out through its network.

Unless you know how to configure your phones data settings to exploit the carrier's backdoor or bugs (if present of course), you can't browse for free.

I agree fully with this! What you can do, however, to reduce the costs, is to take advantage of special offers from you carrier operator, subscribe to a flat rate price plan, or use applications that reduce the network traffic as much as possible. Opera Mini is one such application. Instead of downloading the entire requested web page to your phone, the page is downloaded onto Opera's proxy server, where the page is compressed and reduced in size, and stripped for unnecessary information before it is sent to the opera mini app in your phone. The difference in amount of data received between opera mini and the phone's built-in web browser for opening the same web page is enormous.

Man4war, den is the master here in the philippines btw hehehe.. I think he's configuring the settings so that after you install it, you can browse immediately without touching the settings.. I think it would take den some time to finish his mod because he's currently modding other s/w tooü

@pLu: Thanks for your that. Hehehe. Anyway, I just finished creating modded versions of 4.1 and 4.2 that will work for both Smart and Globe networks. I only have one left task to do. I have to finish the modded versions for Sun Cellular network.

@Man4war: I can't start creating a modded version of Opera Mini for your network provider because I don't know which trick I will use.
