first off, thank you for such an informative thread and software. this is a great community, and with a nervous hand and a lot of re-reading, i will try to do my best to get this done....
i currently have a C905a, the details indicated in the software info are as follows,
R1BB026
prg1208-0522_ATT_SI
my questions are,
1. where can i find the usb flash drivers before downloading a2uploader?
2. i know that my phone (i hope), is a CID53 and i have to download the a2uploader compatible for it, can i respectfully ask for a link to the newest version to the software as well as the best 'replacement' firmware for me? can i back up my firmware as well?
3. ive seen this link as well, and im a tad confused. is this another method hes using, aerix? which one, by your opinion would be the best route for me, considering i am still learning a LOT about this...
4. in specifics to this phone, i currently have the center button mapped as media net, when i flash the phone, should i hope that i can get the button replaced with the menu button? i had an old w610i that was unlocked back then, and love the menu button in the middle.
5. as to not jinx myself, what are the things NOT to do to brick my phone?
thanks again for answering my questions, i look forward to posting in this community.
Great job guys definitely top notch individuals here!

Thanks!
1- the USB flash drivers come with the A2uploader.
2- If I were you I'd hope my phone to be CID52 instead. This way it allows you to read files out of the phone. At 4shared.net, you can look for the version 3 of this program(A2uploader).
3- Aerix is for unlocking A2 CID52 phones, not for flashing/customizing the phone.
4- As your phone is AT&T branded, it is causing your phone to have some shortcuts customized their way. Flashing it to a generic or any other version will remove this customizing.
5- Charge your phone, do not disconnect the phone while in process, make sure your computer won't go off while doing such things.

thanks for the input Tranced, i really appreciate all your hard work as well. there are a lot of members here that do this pretty much with no benefits at all, so thanks again for your generosity.
1. gotcha.
2. how do i know my phones a CID52? all i know is that based on a number of peoples postings, the C905a is a CID53 (if little that ive learned is correct), and if ever it is a CID52 what does the version 3 a2uploader do for me then?
3. ah, i see. so im assuming stick to a2uploader?
4. thank you thank you thank you! im glad to hear that...
5. copy that. thanks again for the tips. i will have to re-read (probably the 3rd time over), the first page of the thread (i printed it just in case. im a nerd like that.
)
how long of a process does it take? i feel like im going in for a major operation on this note. i dont even know if id like to play with my current phone settings, or junk the at&t limited services they have on this phone.
darn it, i just noticed it had scratches on the darn phone... hmm...

2- One thing you can be sure is that your phone is DB3210. It can be either CID52 or CID53. You just need to check it with A2uploader.
3- Yes.
The process usually takes less than 10 minutes.
I know I'm forgetting to tell you something. Sorry I can't remember now.

2. so in this case, i should get the A2uploader Version 3 to make sure? or should i get the newer version?

thanks again for the info...

good morning!
thank you again for your response folks (and for mriley, the link to the updated version
)
i saw on a previous thread someone got the A2 CDA File Generator V1.8, why do i need this and what will it do for me?
do i also need the 'gordons gate' thingy?
in regards to firmware, i went to the top sony area, to look for a firmware 'model'... im still scouring to find other websites that might have it (sorry i just woke up), should i also take note or save a 'copy' of the at&t's version on my pc just in case?
id hope to find a link and post it here to show if i got the right one or not. im located in the US, if that matters.
should i also be concerned about it being red, blue or brown?
again, thank you folks for your time. sorry if my questions one of those 1-millionth ones...
*edit*
do i also need the semc-drivers? saw that on another website,
Link text... hoping it can help me...
should i start another thread instead? i didnt want to threadcrap on this one...
