I am truly shocked at this as OSPS delivered when they said they would - I know Toomuch also bought same time as me and they delivered to him same day.

From my good experience with buying from them i think they are truly having a problem with stock and not just fobbing you off - that said it would be more customer savvy to turn around and tell you all up front what the problem is and when they plan to rectify it.

If you have waited more than you would consider "acceptable", then you can always try the magic approach of fulfil or cancel - or offer some kind of incentive to make up for the delay.

Consumer power! it works every time for me!

DT...

Yep you are right to point that out... they weren't really all that bad, to start with at least, since it appears as though they were one, if not the, first company to offer the P900... and it also seems that those who were able to order quickly, had their order fulfilled and delivered in a reasonable amount of time...

But, their apparent behaviour as of late is unacceptable, and consumers clearly shouldn't be treated in this way... Ok, so if they don't have them in stock, that's not a hanging offence per se, but if they only had the decency to offer consistent reasoning and information to the customers mentioned on here, instead of vague and unfulfillable promises, then this topic probably wouldn't have started in the first instance and gained such notoriety to boot.

It is of course up to each individual to decide what they expect, and as to what is reasonable, but clearly no-one who has complained on here can agree that they have been dealt with as such...

I quite agree, i dont mind waiting for a while since this is a relatively new phone and highly in demand, with retail stores selling out almost as quickly as they get them in, and the prices OSPS are offering being highly competitive.

What i do object to is their policy of charging credit cards before they have any stock and then repeatedly failing to reply to emails asking direct questions, telling customers that they are waiting for stock to be released from orange and expect it to arrive tomorrow, tomorrow, always tomorrow etc.

Customer service really would appear to be a foreign concept.

I agree with you lads. As a first-time customer I am not impressed but never mind aye.

OSPS just said they are expecting delivery [to warehouse] today but if after 16:00 customers should not expect [home] delivery until Thursday.

I obviously find all of this hard to believe.

I just called and got..... "They have definately been released from orange and will definately be out to you this week.", when asked if it was as "definate" as they have been telling us for the last few weeks the guy said "No, its actually definate this time.".......

I wonder how definate definate will turn out to be......

Just my two cents worth...
I have just cancelled my order with OSPS. I didnt mind the wait (I have to wait till thursday to get my phone now from another source), but I didnt like the way they debited my CC first, they way they have yanked a lot of people incl me around either. Plus, a post somewhere above about where you go and what you do if you have problems got me thinking about aftersales support I could expect from them. All in all, I decided the attempt at getting a cheap phone wasnt worth it.

o2 offers the phone free on 45pds a month - which is cheaper than OSPS fellas. Personally the 45/month plan is what I wanted anyway so i don't have a need to downgrade tariffs 17.34 seconds after buying the phone, but if you do want to, its a 3 month (not 4 month on OSPS) wait to legitimately downgrade, though some people suggest it may be done even earlier.

all in all, i think OSPS is pants when it comes to the phones. When I cancelled earlier today I was told phones will be in next week (ie - Iraq has WMD, or No top up fees)...

The annoying thing is that on thursday I get the p900 around 11, but I have a meeting at 1230, so i rush back to charge the thing and I have a social thing in the evening, so i cannot play with the beast till gone 12! And I will be drunk by then so will probably bugger it up anyway... Look out for the post about how to clean sick off a new phone on friday ick ick ick

Anyway I wish you all the best of luck with em. What really worries me is how many phones they are getting "tomorrow" vs how many people they have on waiting for one. I never ever got a OSPS rep to tell me that.

A Big thanks to Pachy and superslicknic for the help!

Koresh...

You would probably be better off leaving the phone on charge til the morning, you do know, of course, it is advidable that the phone is charged for around 14 hours the first time, so as to avert any possible future battery type problems... even then the battery supposedly will not reach its peak until a further 5-10 charge/discharge cycles

As for the rest of you still waiting for OSPS to deliver... just hope that they have enough in to meet demand... as was said earlier, no-one knows how many will be in, compared to how many people want them... Sorry to rain on your parade(s)... though I would have thought that by now, a lot of people would have cancelled their order, so you would have all moved up a few places!

Best of luck ! (strange how buying a phone turns into a lottery, pitty no-one has the winning numbers !)
