I found it really easy. There is some good example code in the 2.1 sdk so it only took two days to get it all working. Now I just have to fix up all the game logic and its done (which takes longer than it sounds).

Bluetooth is a natural stepping stone to online play. Id have to do about 99% of the Bluetooth work to get online play going. So maybe this will happen.

Yeah , it will be an easy step to networking, cause it is as you said 99% same code

The examples from the sdk are good, but I think its a mess gettings everything to work cause I have the experience of bluetooth not being so reliable.. I hade an application that does the same stuff on internet and on bluetooth connections but stuff didn't work as good as in internet. Even If I used the same code, the bluetooth connection sometimes failed...

but thats my experience..

@ Tom (floss) Can you put Vibratings in the next version of Solider Ants??

It would be great when the Ants dies to get some vibrate.... But It needed to be possible to turn off..

And another thing that would be grat to have in next version Is that soldier ants go on the top of all other programs! I have Handy Day 2004 and the little house icon at the buttom of the screen comes over Solider Ants! I have some other game where it isnīt.... Can you do it plz?? it is very bugging to have this house there, and I donīt wanna turn it off every time when I play the game....

Thanks

I think some vibration any time things explode would be good. I'll have to have a look into that, I've never done vibration before.

Weird! I've never used Handy Day but I can imagine that being a distraction. I'll see what I can do.

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks floss! you are great man!;)

Here is a picture of The HandyDay icon in SoliderAnts (the little house at the bottom of the image)

It is very bugging when some thing in the game (Ant or something) is under the house or if i go with the stylus over it. Then it moves over with the stylus:(

Maybe it would be helpful if you turn off the icon of Handy Day and just use a short cut/hot key to access the program. Its the same for ACM, if you dont turn off the icon, then it will appear when you play Soldier Ants. Anyway the solution above works for me

It is going very well.

I have a version of Soldier Ants that I can play over BlueTooth. It is rather buggy at the moment but it works and should be ready for some testing in a week or two. I will release it via my website first so people can help find all the obscure bugs before I release it properly. I'll post here when that happens.

I am also in contact with a musician and am trying to thrash out a deal to get some more music into the game.

Cheers,

Tom
