hello

just wondering if anyone knows a similar trick for o2 WAP, i.e. DIAL UP WAP, NOT GPRS

cos i cant get to hotmail with o2 gprs, but i CAN with o2 dial up WAP

i use opera by the way and hotmail works fine, but only using WAP, not GPRS??

The only way you will be able to do it on dial-up is if you could fool their servers in thinking you wasn’t actually making a call and then all calls would be free because dial-up is the same as making a normal call where GPRS you don’t dial a number

@dekesh
You said that all other ports are closed except HTML.

Is anyone try this free GPRS stuff with their computer?

If noone try this I can try but this comp. isn't mine, because of that I don't wanna try it.

Actually I'd like to try a program which accepts proxy settings. It can be a FTP program no matter. If it works all we need for MSN, ICQ and POP3, SMTP is a program which accepts proxy settings.

Inform me if anyone try to connect from theis PC, notebook.

@offlinerus

these ports must be closed since we can only access sites and stuff.the cookies dont even work properly (or dont work at all) so some other port (the internet or some port like that) port must be closed as well to us PAYG users anyway.maybe there is a way to open these ports or enable them on the PAYG service.lets just wait til someone figures it out i guess.might give o2 a call when im free and see what they say

@ dekesh
I guess they allow full access on Contract & not PAYG as an attempt to get more people to move off PAYG & onto Contract

For some reason im being charged using Opera but not for using the internal browser? The wap/internet settings are right so I can't understand why im being charged for one but not the other? Can anyone shed any light on this?

make sure when you start opera you have no connections (dial up or GPRS) in use then try to open a site and let opera prompt u to choose the appropriate connection and then connect.it should work then.in my experience if i already have the free GRPS connection active then i get charged but if I let opera do the connection its fine. give that a shot and see if it will help you

@nick

thats probably because you used e-topup for the first time. The first time you electronically top up with the top up card you get £1 free
