OK, I loaded my Globe pre-paid sim which had 0 balance for the past 2 months and after about 20 mins it had a GPRS signal which I'm using now to surf.

My problem now is that the Globe pre-paid sim (prepaid sim #2) I was using for surfing for several days now with Php 20.00 balance suddenly registered a sim error. I called CS and all they told me was to go to Globe's office to have my sim checked. Anyone had a similar problem tonight?

Just came from Globe office and they got information on my sim saying that it has expired already. &@#!@$^% how could it expire when there was still load in it?

I had to bring out Globe's terms and conditions and I pointed out that I did not in anyway violate any of their provisions. To pacify me, they gave me a new sim (easy to recall number with P100 load) and luckily it also had access to gprs.

In the meantime, they promised that they will investigate my case and their providing me with an extra sim does not waive my right to follow-up my complaint.

This all happened when I asked higher authorities to act on my case. Their frontliners wanted me to wait for 2 days for an email without even asking my email address... talk about trained customer service with automatic answers!

i think globe's now limiting it's activation on new sims for gprs. my 2 friends exactly had same problem re activation of gprs. their solution was to find older sim cards starting at 0917 where almost all of them are already preactivated

Check myglobe.com for the latest settings for ur phone. In my case gprs was activated in less than 5 hours, 1 week is too long try to do a follow up on ur request. This message was posted from a Nokia 7650

i've tried every globe prepaid sim i could find (officemates, brods, neighbors, friends). i bought 3 of their hi-mem sim, and each and every one of them are gprs activated, which led me to conclude that all globe prepaid sims now are GPRS activated. but i can only use it for wap. the internet.globe.com.ph apn is somehow blocked. i called up globe CSR (of course at first i hesitated!) and she confirmed to me that internet connection via GPRS is only available for post-paid subscribers.
