Why don't you look around for cheaper (but not original) covers? It really does cost quite a bit. I paid $3 just for that lousy little piece of plastic (volume slider).

My advise is do not change third party products yet if your phone is still under warranty, The SC will take all possibilities to void your warranty if they could and will charge you for the services.
