@all

It seems I made a mistake regarding the 3D drivers on the Diamond, it seems 3D is implemented to an extent although 2D acceleration is'nt.

Please be nice to each other, We do all have opinions, But blatantly cursing each other is totally out of order, No matter if your right or even wrong,
we all have an ideal phone, if the x1 isnt ideal then wait ie snapdragon omap or even Orion 88F5182 platforms
Anyway back on the Topic
I see on supergps website that the X1 is available mid september!!
and this is a very reputable site,

@Humble

You are absolutely right, now lets get back to WM & X1 speak .

I'm personally debating now between
1. X1
2. TouchPro
3. i900
4. Moto Zn5(I know this is a totally different type of phone, but its good, very good )

Since I've got the TyTn II I think the i900 is actually a significant leap up with the intel processor and nice and big screen, but no keyboard is such a big issue . And you know since you actually have WM experience that most apps are geared toward HTC phones, several apps dont work on my friends LG KS20.

THe wait till SnapDragon,OMAP 3(WM being only Asus I suppose) and the APX2500 would be till Q1-Q2 2009 which is a long way away , although Mwg plan to launch a WM7 phone Q4 2008 I highly doubt it now.

Android might be a good option, seeing that HTC's offerings will make full use of any hardware acceleration on the MSM7201A processor, with the built in compass and capacitive screen it looks very cool, but again Q4 2008, then might as well wait for WM7. I'm addicated to WM, syncing and doing things on it is just so easy .

@WhyBe

Forget the panels quotes as quite simply when the device is launched you will see despite everyone explaining it to you that you are wrong.

Now as for my E90 doesn't record in VGA 30fps H.264 even Chombos pointed out this to you. You are wrong and every device with the OMAP 2420 does from the first being the N93 then the N95 and N95 8GB and now the E90. Which is why such a big deal was made about again if you read the review clip i posted it said from 3gp being the lowest to 30fps VGA Mp4.

This is not disputable it is quite simply fact if you can't understand it i give up as your really just not worth the effort. If there is one thing i can't stand it's a sniveling little liar and that is exactly what you are. So so long and have fun with your imaginary abilities the X1 will have.

Marc

I just don't understand the big deal about SE replacing/replicating so much WM functionality like messages, contacts etc. The built in WM applications are absolutely fine, rock solid in reliability, and feature rich. Why replace them? Why waste resources on fixing problems that aren't there?

I've been using the Tytn II for several months now, it's the first WM phone I've had after years with UIQ (using apps which SE presumably approve of) and I wouldn't swap it for anything right now. My next phone will most definitely be Windows Mobile, but it won't be the X1 if they're really going to such great lengths to hide the functionality I need. Apart from anything, I have absolute faith in the apps which MS have put together, and absolutely none in SE's efforts, which will doubtless look nice but be full of bugs. At the end of the day, having a contact manager that works, is fast, syncs reliably and perfectly etc, is all a hell of a lot more important to me than having one that comes with purple stripes and a 3D effect.

The messaging app is the same thing on WM6.1, saw the screenshots at BengalBoy, wonder how certain persons on this forum though otherwise.

Like you said Boinng this is my first WM phone as well and I really dont feel the need to change platform, it does everything I require it to.

I did wonder about the "extremely improved" messaging app, but haven't had the chance to check the screenshots - it would make sense that this is just the same threaded mode that's come to existing WM handsets (like our kaiser's) with the 6.1 update. The only surprise is that the X1 didn't already have that, since I assumed it was based on prototype 6.1 from the outset.

I'm sure the X1 will benefit(?) from a few nice SE additions, but I sincerely hope they don't try too hard to hide the fact that this is a WM phone, because it's nothing to be ashamed of. I'd want to be able to ditch the panels quickly, on demand, and not have to fight my way through them all the time to get to the business end. This is a phone for grownups after all (hopefully!)

You really should stop offending people.

Yes very strange, unless on the earlier unit nothing actually worked .

I dont think they'd try to hide its a WM phone, since they want to get a piece of the WM market thats growing day by day. Like I mentioned earlier I have spoke to certain persons who have used the phone, and the panels is like an app, comaparable to Dynamo 2 but with a lot more eyecandy and the SE panels link to preset apps rather than running apps. I'm sure we can remap the X Panel to the start menu as usual, which I do use quite a bit, I'd rather change a soft key tothe panel rather than the Start Menu button. But I think SE have done this to make those people initimidated by WM feel a little less intimidated if you get what I mean. Like I mentioned earlier the SE X1 is brilliant for us WM addicts as it would increase the number of WM phones out there, making more apps available and more devs releasing complete applications.

A wee bit OT, Boinng did you see the latest graphic driver implementations on the TyTn II, if it is released to us then we can easily pull on with our units till WM7 releases. I hope we get them quick .

Seems like Android is delayed to late Q4, so I guess thats out.
