HTC is the ODM of the X1. The X1 is an design however. Other than WM, is also handling the software.

ODM-(Original Design Manufacturer) A contract manufacturer that uses its own designs and intellectual property.

Just a bit of comparison from 2 different sources, X1 and HTC Touch Diamond. Looks like SE are getting something right. Looks good to me.

I appreciate there is still a way to go, but i'm thinking X1 is to be my next phone.

as I have previously said, the Panels user interface is much, much faster and getting to the performance of an iPhone in terms of speed and seemlessness.

I’ve been using the HTC Touch as my regular phone for over a year, so I won’t deny it. I jumped up and down a bit, such was my excitement to hear about the new “improved” version - the HTC Touch Diamond. And I was almost buzzing with anticipation when it arrived in the office yesterday.

But I’ll be honest. My first few experiences with the phone have dampened my ardour. It looks quite nice, with its diamondesque back and glass-dominated front, but it’s so slow it makes a British tennis player look nippy around the court.

Nippy
Where's my English-to-English dictionary at?

Nippy, dear chap, is a term, meant to imply speedy, rapid, quick.

The joke is that British tennis players are not reknowned for there speed on court.

To sum up, the article author is implying , if i'm correct, that the Touch Diamond is not the fastest WM device on the block. And to compare, he states he's a regular user of the older Touch model.

Bring on the X1 discussion! Still crap, is it?

Yeah, I mean Diamond compared to Touch Pro, speed-wise.

Yeah. I think it depends on a few things.
I can see SE ending up with the accelerometer, cos my guess is that the Diamond/Diamond pro/ SEX1 motherbord is pretty much the same.

I'm not sure how much RAM the Diamond Pro will end up with, but as above, if they stick 256 in the x1 for SE, why not do it for their own Diamond?

The keyboard will be a personal preference. I'm liking the look of the X1 keyboard more than the Diamond Pro, but until i get my fingers on it, i wont know for sure.

At this time, i cant tell if there are any other major differences, Hardware wise.

Loving Bengal Boys review so far.
