I am curious about what another poster asked. Can the OS be completely flashed to a standard version of android? Of course you lose timescape/mediascape, but is this an option? Sorry if this has already been answered.
I think so, but we are going to need some type of XDA-Developer type effort for this to happen, because you have to be able to root the device then build the OS with required hardware drivers and pray they work. If a hacker/developer was able to get a working Android 2.1 base build working on the X10, I'm a customer.

I consider myself a real SE fanboy and I just get dissapointed when they do the same misstakes over and over again.

Engadget is actually not saying much beside quoting what mobile-review's Eldar Murtazin has said. A person whos opinion does not exactly come as a suprise I guess.

buying X10 with 1.6 is a smart move.
don't wait for 2.0...because 2.0 is inside 1.6.... cool eh.

1.6 is a stable version.
most of the features in 2.0 has been implemented in 1.6... why wait for 2.0 ?

Here's the link to the MWC 2010 page on SE's site :

The flash intro is awesome! Reminds me of the good old days :Sigh: Hope 2010 is a great year for SE.

Nostalgic indeed.
The whole deal about putting Walkman, camera etc. inside a phone makes me think... Are they planning another first of a kind product? Something like say... a PSP Phone?
Before anyone say "iPhone", I mean a proper gaming phone with buttons. Not a touchscreen only device, not a half assed attempt like the F305, but a proper PSP phone.
PSP II is supposed to be Tegra2 ans Sony's next gen Walkmans are going to be running on Android, so why not add a phone to teh mix and see if it blends?

@synn
Exactly what I thought! Ok, maybe not a psp phone but that intro did make me wonder if SE has got something exciting to show at mwc, something which they havn't revealed yet. Something that'll change things permanently. Maybe we'll see Sony Ericsson going back to its game changing ways!
