@Aya: Glo optimizer? Never heard of that. Is it different from premium? On V-step I pay 75k/sec for the 1st 3600secs within a given month. 60k/sec for the next 3600secs, and 50k/sec thereafter. The tariffs are fixed irrespective of which network you call.
The catch is that you do not pay a monthly access charge as applicable to postpaid or other similar packages.

@amby: Not bad. Looks like it meets your needs, and that's what's important.

Are you considering trying out Vmobile GPRS?

amby: Gbagada, We could meet at "the root" and have a drink. You know the place? I am on glo's business 400 and it has not being "all that" around there. The tariff is not bad actually...its just the GPRS and fluctuating signal strenght. I use a p910. I have always thought reception was above average....I mostly pick up messages on my econet as both sims are on the same phone.

i was tryin to activate a glo line for wap & mms a couple of weeks back, i sent d required sms to d numbers, but the thing didnt come on. i later called glo and they told me they 've cancelled that method of requesting for the service, they susbsequently put the line up after like a week. I wonder why they simply didnt activate all the lines on the network, and i asked the customer care guy, he said "not evrybody wants mms and wap" , the question i shld have asked him was that Is it evrybody that wants sms or voicemail which they give you by force".

i think if those services come standard it will even encourage the use and it wont only be for the techie guys.

Good point there. They should just activate the thing for everybody since there is no subscription fee of any sort.

But if you think activating GPRS on Glo is hectic, I wonder what it will be like on Vmobile where they have put enough obstacles to deter a goat.

Hi guys, here's my first post from the vodafone branded V800. My initial impression is that this phone is massive. When I get to an area with 3G reception will try 2 make a video call and see how fast the data connection really is. This message was posted from a WAP device

@brix: Gotcha! You finally got branded red. Knowing how much you hate branded phones, this had better be good.

Shame you can't video-call me. I'd love to see what you look like

But I gather that the V800 is a good piece. Being 3G, it will be a little bigger than your average GSM phone, of course.
