Well now, first time I've seen a non-network related cellphone promotion in a supermarket here. The absolutely huge supermarket chainstore here, Tesco, which has shares with Pick n' Pay etc, is now marketing a tiny (80mm x 50mm x 10mm) sim-free cellphone made by BlueChipWorld, called the VX1i.

It is purposely marketed as a sim-free cheapie, no top-up required with purchase etc. Has a mini-USB port for charging.

Price :£18.99 (approx R250).

The marketing pitch for this phone is very much as a second phone for nights out jolling or out doing whatever adventurous stuff and so on, where one's primary pride n' joy might be dropped or damaged etc.

Here's a pic I took of the stand inside the local Tesco supermarket:

Now then, that's all fine and well, but for even less money, one could go to the local Carphone Warehouse, buy a basic Samsung E1100 for £3.95 or Nokia 1650 for £4.95 or even a Nokia 1661 for £7.95, pay the £10 minimum airtime top-up with it, the handset will be unlocked anyway and you've paid less than the unknown Tesco offering while still having that airtime to use up as well.

Go figure... but it's clever marketing by Tesco, as amazingly, there's many punters that are unaware of the sim-free status of most phones bought by Carphone Warehouse. Compounded to the fact that all other phones in Tesco and single-network shops sell locked-to-network phones. Knowledge is power, LOL.

LMAO, after a well-supported Facebook campaign to prevent yet another pop idol-type finalist doing another cheesy cover song (cover song from the Hannah Montana movie, LOL) from being top of the charts, Rage Against The Machine's 1992 song, Killing In The Name, is officially the UK's Christmas Number 1 song!

@ Hobbster:
Ya, it was a bloody close thing. They literally held on for those last 19 balls. Impressed with Friedel de Wet. Great debut he's had.

Fellas, I need some help. Hope someone in here knows about this or knows someone with such a problem.

Tried google without success.

Here it goes.

About two or three months ago I became intolerant of cooked/ boiled meat- any meat, chicken included. Initially, I thought it wasn't serious and it didn't affect me much except I felt like the meat wasn't cooked well but it was.

The last couple of days I actually felt like puking every time I ate such meat.

When meat is fried it tastes like it should- great!

I am at my wit's end.
