X10 was announced 2nd/3rd November last year I believe.
And Japan cuz X12/X16 is part of NTT Docomo's Winter 2010 line up and the unveiling is around 10th of November. We may or may not have the official global announcement earlier to that.

Like the Xperia X10, X11 and X12/X16 will be sold in Japan as well as the rest of the world. Its just that we are sure of the announcement in Japan by NTT Docomo. No update on the Global announcement yet but it might be earlier than NTT Docomo announcement or after. In any case the global announcement will be in less than 15 days.

The Global Xperia X10 was also sold as the SO-01B Japan under the Xperia brand. There were both released at the same time at the end of Q12010.
