So will we ever see a true k850i succesor?

What exactly do you mean by that?

You know, like an 8mp candybar. Preferably some wifi and gps with a 2.4inch screen, but im fine w/ 2.2. Basically a Candybar C905.

Ive always stayed along SE's candybars
Ive owned T68i (with attachable camera), t600, t610, k700, k750, k800, and k850 (Along w/ P800 and an M600i)

Im just looking for the next step. Idou is cool and all, infact, its pretty much perfect, but i just dont think im ready for a touch screen.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. A candybar with a good camera is always desirable. (I love my K770 to shreds!). Let's hope SE has an 8MP candybar in the pipeline...

I bet crossmatched meant the *real* successor to the T650 not that pretty stylish half-measure known as the T700.

Cheers!

If the 3.5MM jack is what's preventing them from buying the Idou, then let them be, their lost having their panties in a bunch over a headphone jack that outweighs the first 16:9 16M color touchscreen, first 12MP announced from SE, and first SF announced phone.

as eomer said, it is not SF.. it is s60v5

proof:

I wouldn't call that proof per se. Although those are newish looking SE icons, don't you find it funny that a running application shows that small circle above the apps name - VERY VERY akin to S60 does currently and has for several months; almost 1 year now??!! Also you newbie lovers of Symbian-Foundation OS (which still doesn't have an official name yet) have no clue that its not been finalized yet?! Go try and find me some proof that its NOT currently running on S60 - or old UIQ builds. Symbian-Foundation Open-Source OS GUI is not even made public yet - so why would they let show it off when its not to be ready until late 2009?! Hmm.

A very logical explaination at Mobile Burn:

"The open-source Symbian Foundation OS is being built upon Nokia's S60 user interface and the Symbian OS, and will look very much like the current Nokia S60 5th Edition that runs on the Nokia 5800 XpressMedia"

Source:http://www.mobileburn.com/gallery.jsp?Id=6343

SF is just gonna be an improved S60 v5. IMO, Nokia wouldn't create S60 v5 for one year only and replace it with a completly new OS... Would they???

SF is also said to be backward compatible with S60 so that makes this statement even more close to reality...

P1 successor in SF, 8mp camera, Qwerty keyboard, WiFi b/g/n, GPS/aGPS, AMOLED 4" LCD, DLNA, runing on the new and amazing Ericsson CPU - wouldn't that be nice?

as a wishlist, dats sound great...but 4" is too much isnt it??

Love the specs and the idea! Also agree that 4 inches is too much. The P1 can go as far as 2.8" if they get rid of the dead space with 'P1' written on. So, a P1 successor with the above specs, a 2.8" screen and being 12 or 13 cm thick/thin is just what I want. Of course, it should be finger touch friendly! Come on SE, WE'RE DUE FOR THAT UPGRADE!
