I'm beginning to feel - must resist this negative feeling - that the hype before the release of the P990i is beginning to equal that of the Sidekick III of Tmobile USA. After 2 weeks of its release so many ppl are unhappy (those that are upgrading from the SK I/II) and returning their SKIII for a full refund. I just hope this isnt the case with the P990i.

Doubt it will be anything like the Sidekick.
The sidekick is essentially a toy for teenagers pushed by the likes of MTV... not really comparable to a P990i, m600i Nokia N93, Blackberry, etc., which are professional devices

The well known Czech online mobile magazine has recently displayed some new photos of the P990i. As has been mentioned in the past, the area at the base of the flip that had the "Quickshare" logo, now clearly says "P990i". Additionally there is a shot of the battery compartment where the words "made in France" are clearly visible.
Other points to note are the "QWERTZ" keyboard for the Czech market. Well it really looks like things are starting to happen this week. I suppose that when we all have this phone, the next big question will be "flip on or flip off"?

I noticed that besides Made in France, the label also states 06W29 which would indicate that it left the factory this week (Week 29 2006).

Correction, its of course 06W26. Thats end of june / start of july.

That is the newer revised CDS-60 design (with the flap to support heavier phones). I am using one with my M600i.
