Took my Arc in for repair today, gonna be out of my hands for three days...
Till I get it back, I have a question for those that know: I have predictive text turned on, and I can't for the life of me figure out a way to override the suggestions it gives when I type. I've tried adding words to the dictionary but they don't show, so even something as simple as "haha" means I have to turn predictive text off, type each of the four letters manually, then turn predictive back on - a major pain in the butt, and I'm sure I'm missing something that would make it easier! Can anyone help?
Also, the reason I originally wanted to reinstall the firmware was because bluetooth wouldn't work when trying to connect to the phone from my iMac. Every time I initiated a connection, the phone told me bluetooth has stopped working and must be closed. Anyone else get that at all?

@shanespencer which keyboard do you use? I know on the Chinese keyboard, the first iteration didn't have the option but after going through the update option in the keyboard setting and removing the old keyboard, the prediction can be turned off quite easily.

I use(d) the default keyboard. I was hoping not to need to turn off prediction and turn it back on. I was kind of hoping there was a way like on the iPhone, where the phone makes suggestions, but you can easily add your own instead?

@shanespencer: That functionality is present in the HTC IME Mod keyboard, which i found at XDA, but only in landscape mode, since in portrait mode, the keyboard is a 12 key one with T9 support (which i love to use, over the compact querty)... Ive noticed that when i write a message in landscape mode, the word i write becomes one of the options present with the suggestions, so i can simply select it with a single tap.
I hope this helps a bit.-

Thanks! I'll give that a try when I get my phone back!

@shanespencer
Try swiftkey. I think it will do what you want and more.
you have to use it for a while for the full benefit though.
