Right, the 7710 in SA Investigation continues.I went to an MTN shop (Mobile Solutions) at Beacon Bay's Retail Park in EL.Alas, none on display or in stock.Apparently they are only expecting delivery in 2 weeks time, after the sales consultant phoned the regional MTN HQ.So then,I phone Roland, the guy with the 7710.He claims that he got it through Nashua, and according to him,he managed to push for one of the very few initial 7710's allocated to Nashua,as their cellphone account, which they use extensively for their business, averages a staggering R2000 a month...ouch. If true,no wonder he got preferential treatment and the phone for free!
He also suggested I check out AVG (Audio Video Gallery) in Devereaux Avenue,Vincent,EL.
We shall see tomorrow...

Nice going, Amawanqa, i started making similar tentative enquiries down here. Initially the girl at my closest Nashua had the usual vacant look when i asked her... Luckily the manager was helpful, made a call and also mentioned the 77's availability within the next fortnight

@Kryptik: Are you seriously considering the 7710? Don't get me wrong it's a nice looking piece of equipment but it's not practical as a phone due to it's bad ergonomics. As as smartphone it can't match the P910 for all-round performance.
May I say the SE's screen is much better and it's got way better ergonomics even if some complained about the presence of the qwerty keyboard intially.
It's nice to be a pioneer and not follow the flock of sheep that is the general cellphone buyer but it's also good to have a phone that won't have you throwing your arms up in frustration.
Decisions, decisions.

@Brix, not even if they paid me would i use it, its truly a Brick! I merely enquired out of curiosity, as i had popped in to check on their stock. (why is it the more i look over the K700i the more i'm impressed?) i've a niggling feeling it's going to be an SE as a replacement...

Yeah, gotta agree regarding the P910 having much better ergonomics, for reasons I have already mentioned.
The 7710's more portly dimensions also discourages me from contemplating any personal upgrade to the 7710 or even contemplating switching allegiance to The Dark Side...
When usually carrying keys, wallet etc.,the last thing I want is an even more cumbersome handset taking up even more additional space.Oh,and when I dare to wear shorts,I don't fancy suffering any further from the 'pendulum effect' when walking, caused by a heavier, bulkier handset of course...

Amawanqa, you're a Sou Effrikan male, the pendulum effect is bred into us :o) But yeah, i agree wth you... I made a similar comment on Sat eve whilst inspecting my friend's iMate. It could be mistaken for a Glock17 when worn on the hip hehehe
