I guess they were thinkin of their target audience, only 2% of the population is muslim thats only 108k people in a population of over 5million.

That by no means excuses the cartoons of muhammed but it goes some way to explaining why they wouldnt publish the jesus ones. Any publication in the world will tailor its material to its main audience.

That is just one more proof (if there was need...) that the responsability is only of the Danish paper and not the whole Danish country, and even worse, the whole western world.

No one is trying to justify violence here, get your facts straight!

In case you missed it here is a rehash: violence is unacceptable but you will always get certain elements within any community be it muslim or otherwise who will seek to cause trouble and harm to others.Like after 9/11 hundreds of muslims were attacked and and a some killed purely because they were muslim, now surely we cant sit and lablel every christian or jew here violent...Islam stands for peace and always has done, some fanatics have hijacked Islam to further their own political causees or agendas but that in no way represents islam or the second largest and officially the fastest growing religion on the planet today.

Seems like this debate is going absolutely knowwhere and we are just going around in circles...I think its about time we came to some mutual agreement don't you agree?

Let's agree that in mature societies freedom of expression is a basic human right.

So it should be and i agree with that, but as freedom of speech has boundrys aswell, just as freedom of speech does'nt tolerate Racism or Anti-semitism,so why should making a mockery of Islam be acceptable?...thats double standards.
