Hey Jah just read your message now, should I delete the entire folder? or just the contents?

And did your phone screw up during your first few attempts?

@Muzikfreakah

I had the same problem with a 'dead' P990 - just flashing the screen. Had to remove the battery (or you can keep the on/off switch pressed for 10/15 seconds). Replace the battery and try again. It took 3 attempts but managed to flash it and it came back to life

This will be my fourth try, this time ive tried deleting the contents of the temp folder as well. (I backed it up before deleting same foes for the blob_fs.

Still no luck, meter stop just about halfway then get the error (see attached pic)

@Muzikfreakah

delete all SE COM ports (Control Panel, Hardware Decives, etc), and try the whole process again.

EDIT: if the Update stops then the firmware files are probably corrupted therefore should be deleted again. Please make sure you are using a broadband connection not a mobile connection (e.g. datacard on laptop).

Or better still after installing all the drivers for the phone, which winxp does automatically....try re-booting your pc and also make sure that pc suite is installed.
