I'd say it's a hardware issue as the green tint is there in the preview, and if you zoom in you lose the tint. As the zoom is digital, what the phone is doing is looking at a smaller central part of the image and "blowing it up", thus you lose the green edge.
My assumption is that there is some chip or similar located to that edge of the camera (or maybe it's the battery) that is introducing the green into the image. Similar to how on long exposures my DSLR starts to get pink creep into the corners as the imaging chip heats up.
That's not to say it can't be fixed in firmware - if the green is fairly consistent they may be able to do some imageprocessing to remove the green (although I don't see it going this way...) or the other option is its a timing issue in the camera chip that could be tweaked away by a driver update?

Hi guys,
Thanks for the instructions so far.
I have managed to change to WG1 and have the latest firmware updates.
But I have a qn: Anyone face problem in connecting to WLAN?
I managed to connect WLAN (home router) to someone else's network, but I can't connect to my own. I am using WPA Personal, AES, with Wireless MAC Filter.
I have already set my P1i MAC address to my security, to allow it.
Yet I could not connect.
One thing I noticed is when I try to connect to my own SSID, P1i ask to enter WEP passkey. Which of course mine is not on WEP. I created a new account on the phone, with WPA Personal, AES, yet I still could not managed to connect to my own network. (Laptop is working fine on WLAN).
Does anyone know this issue? P1i can't connect thro WPA Personal?
Thanks!
UPDATE: I have changed my WLAN router security to WEP. And my p1i connects! But when I changed back to WPA Personal, it doesnt. I don't mean to be fussy, but I would like to use WPA Personal....

(thanks, masseur)
Something I noticed when I changed cda - I got a new link I'd never seen before in the bookmarks called "Web Guide", which is the online manual. And after reading that, all kinds of things make perfect sense. *grumble*

Are there any news on the BB client?
As a fact I reinstalled the last verison available on the SE site but I cannot provision my P1i using the BB enterprise via USB.
Has anyone had the same experience?

Hi, a couple of very simple questions everyone here might know...
1. Where can I download the latest firmware from?
2. If the phone comes factory set to Chinese language, can I zap it with Australian firmware and make it behave like an Australian phone?
Thanks for all your ideas.

Before the new FM. when you revieve an SMS or MMS from contact that is not listed in the phones contacts, the mobile phone shows you only the number of the sender. now this is normal. but if later on if u add that contact to your phonebook, that addition will be reflected on the saved SMS. & you will see the sender name instead of the number.
before, all SE smartphone just keep the number on the SMS sender even after adding the contacts details later. although that this is not an issue in all other SE non smartphones.
Is this also true for receiving a call from an unknown number, then saving it?
And PLEASE for the people asking:
1. Is there a new BB client?
2. Where can I download the new firmware?/Why won't it update?
3. Camera Green Tint issues
4. The infamous, "what's new in this fw?" "what's new in this fw?" "what's new in this fw?"
5. How do I find/change my CDA?
SEARCH. THE. FORUM. And if your question is relating to #1 or #4, Read the 18 pages of posts. There's a 95% chance your question was answered in there. You know why? Because the thread is 18 pages long because people keep repeating the same questions. This should be a sticky. I came to this thread for one answer and I saw about 10 members posting redirects to different threads because other members are afraid/lazy to search. You may be "new' to this forum, but chances are, you're not new to the concept of forums.
There should literally be a rule or etiquette now [since we know no one will actually follow the above], that the person who posts the first topic of a NEW FIRMWARE, in that first post, a link should be provided to the threads discussing #1-5.

I'm gettng much better wifi performance with this firmware.
I'm not sure if thats because I flashed to world 1 generic before updating(possible difference in acceptable wifi channel settings maybe?) or maybe its improvements to the firmware, but I can finally connect to my home router which was previously impossible and my GPRS settings also finally work properly.
Still a few problems here and there but overall much much much better

I think that with each update SE are improving the wlan. Wlan is such a complex beast, there are so many ways for it not to work, myself I would like to see proper support for power save polling, improved error handling, and more options. We should be able to set a fragmentation threshold, transmit power and connection speed, we should also have some connection testing tools, ping, traceroute, lookup etc etc etc
But yes, i noticed an improvement with the wlan range and performance with this firmware too.

So did I.
But I think when they were focused on WLAN they have neglected Bluetooth.
I encounter transmitting problems with bluetooth. Especially with A2DP.
I think they should consider giving more priority to A2DP transmittion. WLAN is definitely improved but this time I think it comsumes more CPU resources than it should.
