Sigh!

I am sure contonese speaking people will understand and know why Osama's phone number is +93 (114) 8811967.

Anybody from MY or HK care to explain this.

Cheers,

@fijbert:

The chinese language unlike english has about four different meanings to a sound. That is why, when non-chinese speakers try to speak the chinese language, native speakers tend to laugh at them coz they mean to say one thing but pronounce another.

Due to this fact, the chinese like to play around with words (actually the chinese use characters, not words) and numbers can be very interesting (in case you didn't know, the cantonese dialect for number four (4) is "sei" which also sounds like "sei" (meaning "die"). This is only one example.

So the Osama number I gave +93 (114) 8811967 has a story in it.

+93 of coz is just Afghanistan's country code.

114 (again, this is in cantonese) is "yat, yat, sei" where "yat" is one.

However, "yat, yat" also means "every day". So the number 114 in cantonese means "every day die!"

I will leave it to another person to explain 8811967

Any volunteers? Shithappens had a good laugh reading this, maybe he would like to explain!

Cheers,

Well i really hope that my friend doesnt get arrested in any anti terrorism raids in the near future. He will have a job trying to explain the fact that he has Osama Bin Ladens phone number along with Sadam Hussain, Mao Tze Tung, Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot's personal phone numbers.

This 'Blue-Stalking' is fun...

I need some advice though- where shall i go with all this? the options are:

a) send him a contact that duplicates his girlfriends name with my number so when i text him something dirty he will think its his girlfriend adn will text me back (obvioulsy ill be in the pub with some mates at the time) and we see what sort of fun we can have.

b) send him a contact that points him towards ESATO and this thread (i can see his face when he finds out now!)

c) give him a near death experience by sending him a contact called 'YOUR GOING TO HELL' with one of my friends number on and one saying 'GOD' and phone him so his phone says "YOUR GOING TO HELL" then immediately when he realises that, phone him from "GOD" and ask him in a deep and thoughtfull voice why he should be saved... he he he

any other suggestions?

Oh yeah the other thing- can someone explain the rest of Osama's number?

@all:

Has anyone noticed that since you learned how to bluejack, it has become a sort of habit where when you are doing nothing and in a public place, you tend to scan for any bluetooth device near you for a potential victim?

I also learned from someone else that this habit has also been passed on to other , Ericsson users and loved ones around them?

Of course, I also noticed in this thread where somebody's gf threatened to leave him at the table in a restaurant when he noticed a brick user on the next table and wanted to bluejack that user.

Does anybody else agree with my observation?

Cheers,
