Hi Vlamm,

Long time no see! I hope all is well.

Firstly, I don't doubt my c702 can withstand a heavy rain shower as it already has once or twice this week (damn british weather), although i'm not too sure about it being left in a puddle of water and i don't think you'd want to drop it over the side of the canoe unless you got it out of the water pretty quick. After all is is only really splash proof... Having said that i there's pics of some guy washing his under the tap, after getting it dirty, here on the forum somewhere (maybe earlier in this thread).

As for changing the housings... unless it was professionally done in a service centre or the like I would be very wary of how water proof it would be once you had re-assembled it due to the amount of O-ring seals and what not that would have to be carefully replaced.

Hope this helps... Maybe there's someone out there that has already changed the housing and knows how safe it is to do so?

Cheers

Burgaz

EDIT: Pics of the c702 getting washed on this page...

Thanks Burgaz, that's helpful Nice to see a friendkly face here too

And i know it's just splash resistant really.... was just hoping for the better end of that specification. My ideal phone would be waterproof and unsinkable (one can always keep on dreaming, right?) but I fear I will have to build it myself for no manufacturer seems that way inclined.

Oh well... took no specs at all but just one look at the cyan to persuade me anyway, hehe..

Use trekbuddy, it's much better than googlemaps and it's free.

some people suffer this problem, try to reflash your firmware via SEUS
