then there's this

"The only thing I will say, however, is that they have refined the default interface very thoroughly, so that now the Idou boasts Sony Ericsson’s trademark multimedia menu, custom icons and a unique standby screen setup. All in all, it’s a nice break from Nokia’s standardized apparel, we’ll see how it will work out for Sony Ericsson."

in the mini-preview at mobile-review. doz that mean the whole u.i is like the media menu i.e playstation like? lets hope so(fingers crossed )

Nokia did rip the K850i off in design on the N82. To be more precise, however, they ripped off the W880i in the keypad department. I find Nokias boring in design except the 8800 series. As far as the Idou goes it seems SE has totally customised the interface already. I for one am glad, I can't stand Nokia's terrible interface.

Errm NO. Its in NO WAY a rip off ANY SE. Its simply a great successor of the popular N73, the N82 keypad ACTUALY comes from the Nokia N91 which last i checked came BEFORE the W880. Why cant yall accept that the N82 was in no way a rip off of any SE, the keypad statement which turns out to be not true shows desperation in trying to prove that the N82 is a rip of a SE, when its clearly not. whats next? E90 a rip off of a P1? N95 a rip off of P990? Hehe. . .N97 a rip off of the Idou?

Ermm... Those keys are the P900i's which was way before that particular Nokia you mention. The point is SE continued the keypad on the W880i and then K850i then suddenly nokia jumps on board. Don't get me wrong, I'm not implying that the N82 isn't a great phone but I'm pointing out the obvious rip off of SE design.

Well, just to refresh everyone's mind the 8855/8910/8910i already used that kind of keys before p900 did

True razec. The thing is the success of the W880i pushed Nokia in that direction of the key since it seemed to work for SE. And the fact that the K850i employed a similar keypad.

LMFAO what brought you to that conclusion? Nokia tend to randomly implement this keypad, plus its actualy VERY different in use to the SEs. Have you used a N82, W880, K850 and N91 for texting? I have, the N82 and N91 are almost identical when it comes to the feel of the keypad, whereas the SEs are different from each other and from the Nokias. It seems to me Nokia use that keypad when trying to save space, both N82 and N91 would have been huge im sure if their keys were like N93 or N95 keys. Ps. The W880 keypad is awful, the keys are WAY too thin, kinda explains why they changed it in W890.

You're a rare kind - a fanboy of both SE (K850) and Nokia!
Seriously, you don't have to go those lengths - even I would acknowledge a good Nokia phone when I see one, although I would hardly consider buying it...
