Probably the best video on PRO vs 1II

Looking at PRO I can come up with the conclusion that no new Xperias will have mmWave option anytime soon.
can you elaborate which part of video made you think so?
Oh not the video but the fact that two selling points of PRO are HDMI and mmWave antenna array. Also Verizon the only 5G carrier that didn't have sub6 now has sub6 deployed alongside mmWave. Now that all US nationwide carriers have sub6 I don't think Sony would even bother with mmWave on international devices. PRO is a US-centric device officially released through Verizon carrier and that alone brings US back to focused region once again.

I recall my Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc had an HDMI port some 10 years ago. Ahead of its time

Could there be a delay in new announcements?
All leaksters stopped suddenly. It's weird.
Maybe Sony finally realized it's better to wait until the release is close?

Sony is unusually on fire right now.
First, the airpeak, Vision-S, then now the alpha A1.
Even their new tv's and monitors are phenomenal.
I'm afraid Sony have now completed their transition to the high-end segment in all of their product portfolio except of course playstation.
Xperia will definitely not get any cheaper soon. At least they're in a better position than lg right now albeit having a smaller marketshare.

Smartphones are different beasts. Especially Android market. Sony has been saying they'll focus on high end since the first Z phone. But they keep getting hammered by the smartphone giants. They can keep their prices high but it won't save them from this miniscule share. If that's enough for them, then OK.

To them the profits per unit matter more.
Asus no longer announces midranges.
In 2020 just zenfone 7, 7 pro and ROG.

Z7 itself is midrange.
Thats why you hear "overpriced" in every Sony review. Also ripping off the few fans they have left isn't good. Every reviewer says they can only recommend to fans only. Premium price alone doesn't make a device premium.
They can't rely on fans forever.
Even Apple and Samsung have great value devices. Anyway...
Let's wait and see what happens.

Claimed to be 1iii. Steve H says it is 5mm shorter. The bezels may be smaller than render shows.
Something is weird, it says phone is narrower than 5ii.
Impossible to cut 5mm width without going to small screen.
I hope it is true zoom periscope, not fixed FL.
If ot is fixed, it cannot be more than 4,5x because it would ruin Cinema Pro.
