If not next year then definitely sometime soon. This exactly mimics how they pulled out of US once they cut off physical models from being on a display at BestBuy and other retailers and made them just online exclusive.

Good move but it's sad to see the end of the compact Xperia phone - there was no better combination than the compact phone with the compact tablet.

My 5iv is a glitchy mess now. I'm jumping ship in a couple of months, after the Oneplus and other Chinese company announcements. So far, it looks like I'm going for the Galaxy S25 with 512gb storage. Great for around £750 and years of support on very capable hardware. Small phone and a no brainier against the Pixel which will struggle with more demanding apps. It's a shame, but necessary. The fact that Samsung gives fresh and meaningful software updates is great, it's like have a new phone. Sony really messed me about especially since I've been a Sony user for more than 20 years. No compact flagship is the deal breaker for me.
