My choice would be the Desert Eagle .50 that is what i call a handgun. Goes trough a trucks engine block. I like this one because of its awsome power. Unfortunate i have not had enough money to get me one yet. This message was posted from a T610

I hear you on that, maybe I'm better off getting a USP expert in .40 problem is, it just has a 13 round capacity as opposed to 15,16,17 and even 19 rounders of the other pistols. Most of the top level competitors in Standard division are either sporting STI's, SVI's, SPS', paras and there must be a reason for it. In the meantime I do still use my HK USP45 and don't feel that handicapped except for the long courses which need more rounds on hand. For defense, both at home and concealed carry, I think nothing beats our HK's and Glocks. Its just in IPSC competition that I'm rethinking my options. Of course in the production division, the Glock 17 is still up there

NeO - the Desert Eagle is indeed a mean looking gun with an innovative rotary bolt and gas mechanism and is at its best in .50 AE trim where it is at its most powerful and makes full use of the guns gas mechanism plus the guns weight helps to tame recoil. The only problem with it is its massive size and heft, which relegates its use as a home or shop gun or as a hunting gun. Very few people have the size to effectively carry it concealed. Then again, us gun lovers always find a way and reason has little to do with our purchases. I bought my Super Blackhawk for no reason except I like the power of the .44 Magnum and I like its western style frame, if the Desert Eagle is your chosen piece go ahead buy one and don't forget to practice regularly. Welcome to this thread

doc,
damn infos about our ban, don't know what to believe now. those whimpy ***heads who decides about this ban are to blame. anyway, i have heard about december 15 ban, some say its january, some say it's february (i prefer to believe that last one). and on march there will be total ban, no special cases. what a whole load of very un-tactical and unrealistic and illogical manner of thinking, those comelec guys are! but.... what should i believe now?

doc, sorry i didnt realize you were planning to use it for competition. in that case the STI or the Strayer-Voight (no less. and maybe a sprinkling of Caspian parts) will do excellent.

With the crime situation the way it is, now's the worst time to have a total gun ban. Pity the next kidnap or carnap victim who would have at least a fighting chance if he/she were armed and knew how to use it. Shame on those politicians who have to resort to nefarious activities to finance their ambitions.

i second the motion!
when will these politicians and anti-guns incorporate common-sense in their career?

....and the death penalty is still on hold.

there will be checkpoints. the private vehicles will be harassed again. but crime aboard public utility vehicles are still unchecked (hold-ups and snatchings in mega-taxis, jeepneys, buses). the malls and banks security will search our personal belongings when entering these establishments. but banks and other establisments continue to be scenes of hold-ups and crimes.

and to top it all.... law abiding citizens are prohibited to defend themselves.... there is a gun ban!
