Have just spoken to a friend in a SP in Norway!

He has talked with Ericsson, and he told me that Ericsson said that they had a "major bug" in the new release (it will be a new SW both for T68m & T68i) and they will release it in the end of next week! This bug was found in the "last minute" he told me!

I have read here that other pepole have got the same history, so I choose to belive in it!

I'm going to be positive another week!

Just for confirmation, I have upgraded my T68m today in Milan at 15:30 Italian time, got release R2D005, I havent' used the phone much, but I didn't notice any visible chages, probably only bug fixes... probably...

Bye bye to all of you!

Marco

I emailed a threat of legal action to SE UKand received this reply today from David Dawson, Manger, SE Customer Services UK:

Mr ..

I would like to re-itterate the numerous communications that I have forwarded to yourself in respect of this subject.

Upon completion of thorough testing and acceptance, the software enhancement for the T68 will be made available to all T68 owners.

At no time has anyone refused you this upgrade.

As testing in the UK is almost complete we are expecting the launch of the software to be iminent, we await the release on EMMA and confirmation from Sony Ericsson Headquarters.

Upon release this upgrade will be carried out by Sony Ericsson Service Centres across the UK.

We have no intention of lying or treating any of our customers with contempt. It is in no one's interest to release this enhancement until we are confident that all necessary testing in all theatres of operation is complete. The release dates, as I have previously advised, are guidelines. As with this type of product release in all industries this date is likely to slide due to the findings of the team carrying out any relevant product testing.

Kind Regards

David Dawson

Then t68 not equal to t68i...Otherwise why should there be bug fixings before release? In 6 moths they manage to restyle a phone, putting a brand new SW in it but not coverting existing ones,CONCEIVED FOR THE UPGRADE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING.. Dont believe it,sorry. This post was posted from a T68

Software on upgraded T68m is supposed to be the same exact version as the one on the T68i. I don't see any T68i users complaning of any major bug???

Hardware is the Same + Software is the same, where did this bug appear from?????

When the upgrade is availible, it will be a new version, not R2B025, and it is possible that it is bugs in this new version! When you program software, you offen make new solutions to make things go faster, and it is possible that someting was wrong in the new software, and a bug had to be fixed!

It might also be a bug in the software that converts the filesystem on our T69m phones to T68i, and belive me, you would have been very angry if your phone was flashed, and something went wrong in the update process, and your phone had to be sendt away for service (just like flashing a BIOS on a PC motherboard, if you miss-flash.... you have a problem)

Calm down, it's not life and death, it's a software. I know how it is to develop software, and sometimes something unexpected happens! It is better to get a stable & good software in a week, than a software with some problems now!

Plz guys!!! don't tell me ur believing this bug story!!!
it's bullshit
anyway that's not bad we've given an excuse " what an excuse" but it's ok . they made us feel they care... and by that we're sure that we're getting a software soon I HOPE.
