it is not really correct to say Nokia only repackage phone.
they did come out with 6230 which is quite an update.
maybe u also forgot abt Nokia smartphone? this is one aspect i hv praise for Nokia. i used to hv a pda and phone. now i just use on smartphone.
Of course, I agree with u Nokia foul-up quite a lot also e.g. 7600.

Anyone got a cheesegrater and some Sarsons? The The p900 has been around for awhile...when it was released, 128mb was the highest available stick, and as for the s700, well, do you really need it? Its not a smartphone, you wont be using lots of apps, or storing large volumes od data on it. 128mb is fine for storing pictures and video clips, you would be surprised how many you can fit on there.

I never had any problem with Nokias. Nokia casing quality is not that good (i.e. creaks). from my experience (and many friends) Nokia RF is top-notch. shock-resistant is also their strong point. I hv dropped my 6600 hard and to my surprise there is nothing amiss.
unfortunately for me, i had bad experience with SE predecessor. I remember i had the GF768 and T18 which gave so much problems.

I used to be a Nokia fan, I always used Nokias, but I just felt that their products were all very similar. Releasing lots of mobiles may be good in terms of sales, but I actually like the fact that SE don't, it adds something to the brand for me.

u will be shortchanging yourself if u bought a S700 and think that 128Mb is enough. 512Mb would be more appropriate for a megapixel cam.

how about another "edge" discussion.
I read somewhere that Nokia and Samsung profit margins are somewhere in the 20+ percent whereas SE is in the low 10+ percent.
Can this means that SE is lagging behind in production cost and supply chain control? Or is it SE phones are higher spec and cost more to produce.
Recently, SE came out with a statement that sales of worldwide phone has slowed. Can this be a preamble that SE is going to announce not so good results?
Will Nokia aggressive price-cutting dent SE growth? Remember, because of Nokia profit margin, it can cut more prices. Will this wreck havoc on SE?

Sales can go up and down in the short term, the long term view is what one must be concerned with. Nokia might be able to cut prices, but many countries have now approached saturation level with regards to mobile phones; customers may now be looking for something more than a basic Nokia and this is where SE could pick up sales.
