Okay, "update" drivers installed (had to round up an XP machine, w2k no go), then I run the Update Service and it tells me there's no USB cable attached.
Everytime I start up the phone with 'c' held down, it's a Flash drive for like a second, then goes into regular boot-up mode. (And wants more drivers, which I don't have installed.) Is this expected?
I don't have the PC Suite installed either. Just the Update Drivers. Total nightmare. Any pointers?

I've just updated my Orange UK K750i to R1J002. I can't believe the firmware for an Orange-branded handset is available before others! The process seemed a little tricky at first, but after installing the update service driver, everything went smoothly.
I love the new menu icons - they look so much nicer. I can't believe they've actually changed these in Orange firmware! The speaker is definitely louder, which is great. I hope the inaccurate battery indicator is sorted too. I've found a few other niggles that have been fixed. Once I've had a proper play, I'll be able to find other things. I'm very happy.

@ schmeeve
I'm not positive, but I think you need to install the normal USB cable drivers first as well.

Very nice even a luddite like me managed the upgrade

, that'd after screwing up attempt one by not holding down the c button long enough. Now my most annoying bug has gone, on R1A when entering the media player and clicking all music none of my mp3's that were stored on the card would be found which was a rather major bug. You had to manually add the folder in each and every time you entered the media player.

@anay: it did ask for the Flash drive ones, once installed, hasn't asked again.
Do I need the "regular" drivers as well?
