i think u'll be able to keep your old number. If you can keep your old number when changing to a completely new network i dont see why they wouldnt let you keep it when just changing to PAYG. Call them and ask.

When I first saw this thread last year I was so envious as I was halfway through a 12 month contract paying £30 pm for 200 xnetwork and 50 texts.
My 12 months officially ended on Dec 20 so I waited until today to ring O2 to see what deal I could get.
I rang the 0800 028 8151 number and asked for my PAC number. I was asked why by the nice girl and I said I'd done 12 months now with O2 but that '3' and Vodaphone were bombarding me with offers. She asked what they were and I lied and said '3' had offered me a W800i foc with 500 xnetwork minutes and 400 texts. She asked me if I'd be interested in staying with O2 if they could match that. I said yes and she put me on hold while she went to ask her manager.
Several minutes later she returned and said I could have the W800i for free though it should have been £39.99 on upgrade so result. She asked if I would use 500 minutes and I said yes and she said it should be £25.00 pm but that I could have them for half price for the year so only £12.50 so result. Then she asked if I would use the texts, again I said yes and she said it would be £3 to bolt those on, which I agreed to, bringing the total monthly bill to £15.50.
She said I couldn't upgrade for 12 months and I said that was fine and I finished off by saying that I looked forward to telling '3' where to go with their offers when they next rang me. They have never rung me, hehe.
The W800i will be ordered today and couriered to me in the next 3 to 5 days and my tariff will be altered to the new one within 48 hours.
I am such a happy bunny.
I cheekily asked about the W900i but she said they were out of stock and she didn't have any prices available so I left it at that.
A big thank you to the original poster - m8cky.

The black version of the W900i has been around for weeks now on O2. A simple google search pulls up many deals.
Maybe you mean the white version of this phone

Hi muppetmovie,
Not too sure what to believe here as i cannot believe that O2 fell for that. The W800i is a 2.5G phone and "3" would never offer such deals.Well done if it is true.but i doubt it !!

o2 customer services and most mobile phone reps don't actually have a clue about mobile phones or anything related so I would believe it!

Hi haribofan2
Haven't you read the previous 17 pages of this discussion? The whole point is trying to get a great deal from O2, i.e. to pay less money than your existing contract, to get a free upgrade, to receive more minutes and texts than at present and all at the expense of an alleged threat to move to '3'.
I read here about so many others doing it that when my contract was up for renewal I decided to go for a bigger slice of the pie, so to speak. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, etc. Also, no one else was going to do it for me so I ventured and I gained big time.
The W800i has been superseded of course now by the W900i mainly so I reckoned I had a better chance of getting the former for free.
It's your choice to believe me or not, I couldn't care less one way or the other. When is your contract up for renewal? - try it yourself. Some have been unsuccessful but an awful lot have been very successful; I was lucky I guess. Then again all I did was pick up the phone, rang O2 and TRIED having stuck pretty much to the 'script' that others kindly shared in the previous 17 pages of this discussion.
24 hours after ordering the W800i it has arrived. They told me it would be 3 to 5 days!!!! It's charging now and on initial handling it feels very solid indeed.

Just got a cracking deal on a couple of mobile/PDA's if anyone wants one. Its the o2 XDA mini S, o2 started selling them last month. Sim free they retail for £450 each and this offer over 12 month contract works out at approx £400 for 2 handsets, the offer is minimum 2 handsets. I recieved mine last week and are the dogs bo**ocks. They're selling on ebay for about £340.00ish, where my spare is going
Its the o2 best for business deal, £13.99 per month + VAT for a 12 month contract, no minutes or texts but there is other tariffs, but if you want, like me, use your existing sim and forget about the other 2.
Here's the link if interested:

Just got a w800i for 50 quid after they tried to charge me 70
and 200mins and 500txt for 15quid a month which is much better than my current deal which is like 50mins and 200txt for 20quid a month so that’s a pretty good i reckon. I would of pushed for the phone for free if i had of known how much they are prepared to bend over for ya lol.
Didn’t read this forum till after i had got me deal though but still I haven’t got me phone 5working days they said and that was 2weeks ago on sat :/
Think it all depends who u get on the phone if u get like a middle aged women that probably is up to scratch on her targets it much harder this women i spoke to was saying i would have to pay 25quid for that deal i got above and 50 for the phone lol so I left it and then tried to leave again and got a young lad and he was like OFCOURSE U CAN HAVE THAT DEAL SIR lol
