I didnt have much choice in the matter of getting a new system, as my old board came with George Bush BIOS 100numpty, and buggered all my components bar the processor.
Anyway....Couldnt stand looking at the bloody thing assembled in the manner it was last night, so I completely recabled it earlier. Ahh the magic of zipties
Cant get the bugger working though yet, as Windows XP doesn't recognise SATA drives by default, so I currently have no OS.
In order to install the OS, I need to load a RAID driver even though it's not in an array, and I have to load the driver from floppy disk (which causes problems as I don't have a floppy drive on this rig, and the bloody driver is on the motherboard CD, which means I need to create a lovely DOS bootable floppy and stick the drivers on it as Windows is a further pain in the arse by only accepting floppy disks as the update medium!
)
Ah well, I'll get it done tomorrow some how (hi jacking local library machines probably)
Anyhoo, I'll say night, as if your reading this, you must be bored and knackered by now
