Please remember there is a big difference between the date the first phone is purchased from a retail outlet and general availability. I think general availability will not be until middle to late August (Euro land).

agreed, we need to define release dates for different groups:
Speciality phone stores + online stores: 1st 'retail' availability (SIM free)
General phone stores and wider in-store sales : possibly a 2nd wave of retail availability
Carriers & other phone service providers: 3rd and last group to have it available (could include branding + lumping with service plans)
so, the rumor mill is 6-8 business days for 1st group, then early August for group 2 and possibly late-August to September, maybe even later for some markets for carrier branded versions

Orange UK store that i just went into say its been put back and my not be here till late august/september now - that however doesnt mean that the SIM free version wont be out soon, just the branded crap that orange does!

Sonyericsson just remove the Z550 too from the 'coming soon' list and now only p990 is left.......
